NCDC Commitment Profiles: South Shore’s Jennersjo Commits To Gustavus Adolphus

By Alexis Demopoulos

South Shore Kings defenseman Gregor Jennersjo had an outstanding regular season and is now excited to announce his NCAA Division III commitment to Gustavus Adolphus College for the 2025-26 season.

Jennersjo, who hails from Sweden, joined the Kings organization for the 2024-25 season and quickly felt right at home. In 51 regular season games, Jennersjo put up 45 points (six goals and 39 assists) and was a staple on the blue line. His remarkable play also earned him a spot on the New England All-Star team back in January.

“I can’t express enough how professional and well-run the South Shore Kings organization is,” said Jennersjo. “Being part of the NCDC team for the 2024–25 season has been an incredible experience, and I’m extremely proud of what we’ve accomplished together as a group. I feel truly privileged to show up every day and work alongside such unbelievable teammates, coaches, and staff. My decision to sign with the Kings for the 2024–25 season was driven by the team’s recent success and the great things I had heard about Coach Tyler Holske and Coach Drew  Omicioli.”

Jennersjo first connected with Gustavus Adolphus assistant coach Ethan Schwartz back at the Hitmen Showcase in October. They stayed in touch over the course of the season.

“Coach [Ethan] Schwartz quickly introduced me to the hockey program at Gustavus Adolphus College and expressed interest in having me continue both my hockey and academic career there in the fall of 2025,” said Jennersjo.

Jennersjo was intrigued by the success of the hockey team and the fact that he could get a solid education.

“What first got me interested in Gustavus Adolphus College was the success of the hockey team since Head Coach Tyler Walsh and Coach Schwartz took over the program at the start of the 2024–25 season,” said Jennersjo.”I was also drawn to the academic side of the school, especially its strong reputation for providing a high-level, well rounded education.”

Due to a vigorous game schedule and the campus being in Minnesota, Jennersjo was unable to visit in person, but was given a virtual tour by the coaches.

“Coach Walsh and coach Schwartz set up a great virtual tour that gave me a real sense of what it would be like to attend Gustavus Adolphus College,” said Jennersjo. “The close-knit community, along with the impressive athletic and academic facilities, convinced me that I’ll spend some of the best years of my life there.”

Jennersjo is still deep in a playoff run with his South Shore Kings team as the defending champs look to go back-to-back. The Kings are one of four teams left battling in the Dineen Cup Championship Series that will start April 25. But, once the season comes to a close, he will switch gears to prepping for the college level.

“I’m continuing to work on my speed and strength off the ice, along with my defensive play, so I can be a reliable player in all three zones and contribute at any point in the game next season with Gustavus Adolphus College,” said Jennersjo.

The NCDC congratulates Gregor Jennersjo, his family, the South Shore Kings and Gustavus
Adolphus College for his commitment.
